I’m excited to join the incredible team at BrightSpire Health! I’ve worked as a therapist for the last 7 years, and as a clinical social worker in hospital, school, and community agency settings for over 20 years before that. During my years as a therapist, I’ve helped people from all walks of life reflect on their thoughts and emotions, life situations and relationships, their deepest values. I encourage people to be compassionate with themselves and others in the process, while staying open to inspiration and support for living in alignment with their core values. I’ve benefited myself from the process of therapy and understand deeply that feeling better can take time and isn’t always a linear process. I strive to be a caring, attentive and resourceful support along the way as you move toward growth and healing.
The field of psychotherapy has so many frameworks and strategies to help people cope with stress, symptoms, conflicts, and our rapidly changing world. I get excited to explore these with modalities with my clients when interested, especially Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive behavioral therapy, Mind-body practices such as mindfulness meditation, EFT tapping and Polyvagal exercises, and the trauma treatment of Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I strive to balance listening deeply with sharing ideas for building psychological flexibility and resilience.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my daughter, family and friends, reading, playing guitar and seeing live music, yoga and meditation, and researching integrative health and wellness topics.
