Scott Anthony, LCSW
Mental Health Therapist
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who specializes in treating Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Stress, Relationship Issues, and Substance Use. I also specialize in working with adults focusing on sexuality/sexual health. My therapeutic approach is integrative, strength-based and solution focused. My aim is to help clients form realistic strategies using evidence based therapeutic tools from Mindfulness, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behavior Modification Theory, Solution Focused and Collaborative Problem Solving. I use skills to help quiet the mind and body, helping create a strong foundation to work from. I believe each client is an individual and that no one approach works for everyone.
I received my MSW in 2007 from Arizona State University and my LCSW in 2015. I have thirty plus years of experience in social services working with an array of populations including homeless, HIV/AIDS, addictions, criminal offenders, men and the LGBTQ+ community.
I have extensive training in sexuality/sexual health, motivational interviewing and addictions. Sexuality/sexual health is my passion, and I work on decreasing stigma and shame by creating a safe, sex positive safe where you are acknowledged as a sexual being in your own unique way.
"Ironically it may require greater intimacy to discuss sex than to engage in it". Jennifer Potter
